Peace Initiative



WKPI is a peace initiative that targets key hotspots in the Kisumu-Nandi border that experience political violence.



The project focused on violent conflicts and hindrances to peaceful co-existence experienced by the targeted community.
Funding and Initiating

Peace walks

STIPA implementes the project in Kisumu County covering key hotspots to sensitize communities on peace, with key activities including community dialogue forums, meetings with trained peace facilitators, use of IEC materials and peace tournaments.

Project Partners

WIKPI has joint activities carried out in border hotspots of Awasi, Sondu and Songhor that are often very volatile. STIPA partnered with Anglican Development Services-North Rift and Tenwek Community Health & Development.

The Western Kenya initiative has significantly abridged incidences of violent conflict, their intensity and types thus promoted peace building.
